What I’ve just finished
Last summer, I finished my post-apocalyptic sci-fi Colony Six series, and I added two more books to my paranormal mystery Imprints Series, which, yes, has a nice shot of romance. And now I’ve just finished Kiss at Midnight, a small-town romance set in a Midwest town called Forgotten.
So will the next book be a Teyla or Rachel novel?
While I’m always thinking ahead on plots for both my romance and my sci-fi/fantasy, I usually only do actual writing on one book at a time. I love to immerse myself in the world. I already had an entire new plot in my head for Checked In, book 8 of the Autumn Rain Imprints series, and it’s always easier to write a speculative book once while you are already in that world, so that is what I’m writing now. The release date for this novel is September 1st.
I have also just revised the order of the Unbounded series in preparation for continuing the story. This included taking 3 novella side stories off the end of the series (they were books 7, 8, and 9) and putting them in a set to become book 3 and shifting the rest of the series down. There are now seven books in the series (the novellas are still separately published but are no longer in the main series). There will be at least one more book from Erin’s point-of-view. From there, I’ll let the story decide if there will be more or from Erin or from her children.
New Rachel series
Now that I’ve finished Kiss at Midnight, the first book in my Rachel Branton A Town Called Forgotten small-town romance series, I’ll be continuing the series with many of the other townspeople in between each Teyla Branton novel. That means after I finish Checked In, I’ll write the second book in the series before jumping back into Unbounded. It’s really fun for me to switch back and forth between romance and sci-fi. I think it makes the ideas fresher and keeps me from being repetitive, but it is more challenging at the same time (which is why I don’t do two speculative series at the same time). Normally, I’ll do which ever book character yells the loudest in my head.
Other upcoming books
I also have two novellas, Royal Quest and Royal Dance that were originally written as part of the Royals of Monterra Kindle World, published by Amazon. With the dispersing of that program, I received my rights back. So now I’ve taken everything mentioning the Royals of Monterra, changed certain names, and invented a new location. This series of novellas will now by known as Royals of Beaumont. These are stand-alone, but each book will be connected. Royal Quest will actually be book two when I’m finished, and Royal Dance will be the third book. I plan to write a first book (Royal Kiss) and a fourth (Royal Time) to round out the series. I’ll be getting new covers for all the books as well, but for now Royal Quest is an exclusive for my subscribers only. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to writing these!
I also have story running through my head about a family of sisters with abilities (some might call them witches, but it would be more based on magic, not witchcraft), and I’m looking forward to someday telling their strange and fun stories. It’ll be paranormal romance, I think. But will probably end up being suspense and urban fantasy as well, lol.
So that’s the plan. Unless some my characters hijack me and force me to do something else. Which they have been known to do. They are very insistent at times. If so, I’ll update this blog with whatever is current.
Thank you for your support. I really appreciate my readers. I couldn’t write and publish stories I love without you!
